SLOW Exhibition
The machine as life model; where is slow in today's society?
Ready made is impossible; in the name of productivity what have we gained or lost?
Is the value of the artistic outcome quantifiable in the length of its process?
SLOW was put together with the intention of reflecting upon the way time is prioritised in the context of contemporary society and artistic production.
The exhibition featured the work of seven artists and designers who expand on these ideas by using time-keeping devices, machines, food and the human body to offer a multifaceted reading of the term SLOW. There was not one conclusive voice throughout the exhibition, instead choral responses linked by a rigorous aesthetic and a playful approach that were framed by the original architecture of the space.
Alice and I produced the show where I debuted 'Living with Food', an alchemists table full of designs exploring the way we interact with food.
